Do you want to know more about His Feast Days? Did you know we are to keep these Feast forever? Paul kept them and taught them to the Gentile churches. Let’s look at a couple verses to ensure you that this is true. “Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus to avoid spending time in the province of Asia, for HE WAS IN A HURRY to reach Jerusalem, if possible, by the day of Pentecost”(Feast of Shavuot) Acts 20:16. Paul tells the Corinthians this, “Therefore let us celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.” 1 Cor. 5:8. He is talking about the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
Today begins Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles) but most the people are focused on the moon instead of this Feast that will be kept after Jesus/Yeshua returns. Yes, you heard right.

Many people quote Nehemiah 8:10, “The JOY of The Lord Adonai will be your STRENGTH” but they don’t understand where that scripture comes from or what it is talking about. It’s talking about the Feast.

Ezra is telling the people about JOY. These people, (Yahweh’s people) had been captive in Babylon for seventy years. Yes, seventy and WHY? For not keeping The Sabbath Holy. And now the people had just rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem and found the book of the Torah and it says in Nehemiah that Ezra the priest stood upon a PLATFORM above all the people and read from the Torah from early morning until afternoon and all the people began to weep and they bowed down and prostrated themselves. Why? When this is read it makes us aware of our sins and how we have fallen and what we need to do to live right.

Did the priest that day have a job to come up with a catchy sermon or boast loudly or ask the people if they were preaching good or if they could get an amen? NO. . . Let’s look at verses 13-17.

“Then on the second day, the heads of fathers’ households of all the people, the priests, and the Levites have gathered to Ezra the scribe that THEY MIGHT GAIN INSIGHT into THE WORDS of the TORAH. They found written in the law (Torah) how the Lord had commanded through Moses that the sons of Israel should LIVE IN BOOTHS DURING THE FEAST OF THE SEVENTH MONTH. So they proclaimed and circulated a proclamation in all their cities and in Jerusalem, saying, “Go out to the hills, and bring OLIVE BRANCHES and WILD OLIVE BRANCHES, myrtle branches, palm branches and branches of other leafy trees, (this represents Jews and gentiles, ALL NATIONS) to make booths, as it is written.” … The entire assembly of those who had returned from the captivity made booths and lived in them. The sons of Israel had indeed not done so from the days of Joshua the son of Nun to that day.” EZRA 8:13-17.

How long did they stay outside in these booths? For seven days. This Feast is not just a Feast to remind us of God’s provision during Israel’s 40-year wilderness sojourn, but also a future event that has not happened yet. This Feast is also called “Feast of the Ingathering.”

“You shall celebrate the Feast of Weeks, that is, THE FIRST FRUITS of the wheat harvest and the Feast of INGATHERING at the turn of the year” (Ex. 34:22).
The Bible says that a day unto the Lord is a thousand years and a thousand years a day. Let’s get more understanding. Many are talking about Jesus-Yeshua coming back but when you study HIS Feast you can become more in tune with what is going to happen. The King is not going to just come back AND we all float up to heaven, sit on clouds and meet with our relatives… the end. No, He is going to come and fight for His people and a great earthquake will take place. After these events, He is going to tabernacle with us for 1,000 years. Let’s look at more verses.
“And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now AMONG THE PEOPLE, and HE WILL DWELL WITH THEM.” Revelations 21:3. There will be a feast of Tabernacles in the millennial kingdom. So we read above about the people in Ezra’s day getting branches and creating booths for this Feast called the Feast of Tabernacles or Sukkot.
There is a fearful statement in Zechariah chapter 14 about what will happen to the nations who fight against Yahweh’s chosen people. “Now this will be the plague with which the LORD will strike all the peoples who have gone to war against Jerusalem; THEIR FLESH WILL ROT while they stand on their feet, and THEIR EYES WILL ROT IN THEIR SOCKETS, and their tongue will rot in their mouth.” Zechariah 14:12.

Sounds horrific, but you won’t hear much of this preached on Sunday morning. Now I want to expound on the verses that explain what will happen to the nations who do not keep this Feast. I also want to ask you a serious question. Does your church congregation honor The Lord’s HOLY Feast? If they don’t perhaps you should ask why not, since one day the whole world will. Back to Zechariah 14: 17-19.
“ Then it will come about that ANY WHO ARE LEFT OF ALL THE NATIONS that went against Jerusalem will go up from year to year to worship THE KING, the LORD of hosts, AND TO CELEBRATE THE FEAST OF BOOTHS. And it will be that whichever of the FAMILIES of THE EARTH does not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, there will be NO RAIN on them. If the family of Egypt does not go up or enter, then no rain will fall on them; it will be THE PLAGUE with which THE LORD SMITES the nations who do not go up to celebrate THE FEAST OF BOOTHS.”

Now we just read that the nations who don’t keep this Feast will be punished and yet most mainstream Christian churches don’t teach this. The last verse in Zechariah 14 says, And there will no longer be a Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts in that day.”
Now, what did he mean by that? The Canaanites worshiped many gods and you can read all about the different types of gods in Ezekiel chapter 8. No more Ishtar, Tammuz, or Baal. These are gods worshiped every year unknowingly by Christians. The last verse makes it clear that in Yahweh’s congregation it will be pure worship, unadulterated and holy. But the GREATEST SHELTER is the one mentioned in Isaiah 4:5, “The LORD will create a cloud of smoke during the day and a glowing flame of fire during the night over the whole area of Mount Zion and over the assembly. His glory will cover everything.”
