If I were to post a verse on social media such as this one, “How blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they have the right to eat from the Tree of Life and go through the gates into the city! Outside are the homosexuals, those involved with the occult and with drugs….” Rev. 22:14-15 and if I post it right after a Kim Davis rant many would assume that I am making a point directed at homosexuals. If they are for gay marriage they will not “Like” the post even if they are “Christians.” If they are against homosexuals and are often making statements about abominations and so forth, they will share the post, whoop, and holler and shout AMEN regardless of the rest of the people listed outside the gates!
If I post Romans 13 or other verses about not slandering world leaders then many seem to think I must not understand how evil or ignorant the president is. Well, I didn’t say this, “Everyone is to obey the governing authorities. For there is no authority that is not from God, and the existing authorities have been placed where they are by God.” Romans 13:1.
A man in PRISON named Paul wrote this. Ironic?
AND Peter said, “Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human authority: whether to the emperor, as the supreme authority, or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right.” 1st Peter 2:13-14.
HE was crucified upside down by governing authorities. If I were to post a picture of Obama and these verses most would think I was nuts. I didn’t say we should honor them or obey them, our Father did. He also said Nebuchadnezzar was HIS SERVANT.
If I post verses on the Law (Torah) such as, “The Torah of Adonai is PERFECT, restoring the inner person.” Psalm 19:7 or “How HAPPY are those whose way of life is blameless, who live by the Torah (Law) of Adonai!” Psalm 119:1, then some take it as I am trying to push a doctrine on people. BUT, if I post something like this,” For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to PROSPER you and not to harm you, plans to give you HOPE and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11, then 50 people will “like” it on Facebook, and Twitter and say AMEN and do a happy dance! This happens regardless whether they have ever read the first part of the passage about how they had to be slaves for seventy years in Babylon before this PLAN OF PROSPERITY would occur.
It seems to me that the Bible says this about HaShem (God) “I am the LORD, and I DO NOT CHANGE.” Malachi 3:6… Jesus Christ, Yeshua the Messiah, is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8.
So whether we are reading about someone being stoned to death or God’s wrath being poured out on His people, He does not change.
But many say, “But Tekoa Jesus-Yeshua is not like His Father and He changed everything. But Jesus said, “If you had known Me, you would know My Father as well.” John 14:7.
AND HE SAID when they asked him about his father this, “Where is your father?” “You do not know me or my Father,” Jesus replied. “If you knew me, you would know my Father also.” John 8:19.
So the verse below and many like it are pretty tough to swallow at times.
‘Now go and strike Amalek and utterly destroy all that he has, and do not spare him; but put to death both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.'”1 Samuel 15:3.
But you say that is the OLD TESTAMENT and we don’t live under that LAW. No, we don’t live under the CURSE of that Law.
Let’s look at John 1:16-18…Out of his fullness we have all received GRACE in place of grace ALREADY given. For the law (Torah) was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.”
King Jimmy added the word BUT…For the law was given by Moses BUT grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. (KJV) As if GRACE and TRUTH were never available before Jesus/Yeshua came. We know that is not true.
“But Noah found GRACE in the eyes of The Lord.” Gen. 6:8… Even Jonah, who was angry at HaShem for sparing the wicked people of Nineveh said, “I know that YOU are GRACIOUS and MERCIFUL GOD, slow to anger and abundant in LOVINGKINDNESS.” Jonah 4:2.
Much grace was here before Jesus/ Yeshua came. I don’t have time to show you the thousands of verses on SALVATION and GRACE in your Old Testament King James Bible but trust me or do a word study if you never have before.
As Skip Moen explains, “When the translators added “but” to the sentence, they implied that Christians and Jews have different gospels. They separated believers into two camps; those who lived under the Mosaic code and those who lived under the free grace of the Gospels.” Skip goes on to explain, “This is even more that case when we realize and profess that Jesus is God. When it comes to salvation, God has not changed His mind. Salvation is by grace and grace alone. That was true for Moses and it’s true for us. That is exactly what Jesus taught. But usefulness comes through obedience and obedience is determined by a code of conduct revealed to Moses and endorsed by Jesus.” Skip Moen.
We see this in Luke 10, “On one occasion an expert in the law (Torah) stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
“What is written in the Torah?” he replied. “How do you read it?” 10:25-26.
What I really wanted to ask you, “Is there any scriptures that you don’t like? That you wouldn’t click “like” on? Are there any verses that are not for today? Is the Word of Yahweh perfect? Or is it perfect now and we can throw the Old out even though the new wasn’t even written until 30 to 60 years later? The Apostles and the Bereans were teaching and studying out of the OLD.
Did the verse above in Psalms 19 lie when it said “How HAPPY are those people who live by the Torah (Law)? Is it a LIGHT to your feet to lead you or is it bondage and horrible animal sacrifices and death? Which one? Do you believe the whole Bible is truth? Proverbs 6:23
For this command is a lamp, this teaching (Torah) is a light, and correction and instruction are the way to life,…” Psalm 119:14. John chapter one tells us that in the beginning was The Word and then he says, “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.” Yeshua put on flesh and came down. He was and is THE LIVING TORAH.
Was David lying when he said this?
“I rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches. “OH, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long. Your commands are always with me and make me wiser than my enemies. I have MORE INSIGHT than all my teachers, for I meditate on your statutes. I have more understanding than the elders, for I obey your precepts.”
How could something that makes one wiser than their enemies be thrown away and nailed to the cross? Something else was nailed to the cross and that is what seems to throw many off. “Your word, Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.” Psalm 119:89…
