Naked Men and Naked Women

This devotional is rather strong, like a cup of black espresso. Most of the ones under this section will bring conviction and deep thought.

The Bible says there is “a time to weep and a time to laugh.” Ecclesiastes 3:4 NIV. I could be wrong, but I feel like it’s a time to weep. My husband who used to be in law enforcement had dealings with naked People while working. First, he had to arrest a man with no pants on and no underwear, who was eating a salad he stole from Kroger. This man was sitting drunkenly outside a well-known restaurant at lunch time. Everyone going inside could see his drunken naked condition, but him! Yes, he seemed to be unaware.

Next, a few weeks later, he is called to arrest a woman who is walking down the road completely naked and talking crazy. Thankfully another officer had a sheet in his trunk. As my husband told me of the second incident, it seemed the Holy Ruach Spirit began to say to me, “That’s my people.”

“‘Because you say, “I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing,” and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked.” Revelation 3:17 NASB.

Neither person my husband arrested knew they were naked. They had no idea. At least Adam and Eve were aware of their condition and sewed some fig leaves to cover their nakedness. Something seems to have shifted in the spirit realm; it’s as if we are naked and do not realize it.

Yes, at times, we are not even aware of our condition.

I’m not screaming or yelling at anyone to repent. See repentance is something I can’t even express to you. It’s such a personal matter, there is no way I could tell you what you need to repent of or what issues of sin you might have. No, The Holy Ruach Spirit must do that and unless it comes from our hearts, there’s no power in it.

It seems to me that all across this land people get dressed and ready for Shabbat or church on Sunday, but their spiritual condition is as Jesus/Yeshua said above, wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked. Yes, we put attire on, but spiritually we need eye salve. The condition is one that goes deeper. All throughout the scriptures you can compare men and women who knew how to repent and those who did not. You can start with Cain and Abel, Jacob and Esau and go from there to King Saul and David– throughout the Bible until you reach the end of the book. Yes, the Apostle John warned us. “The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was allowed to scorch people with fire. They were seared by the intense heat and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify him.” Revelation 16:8-9 NIV.

America, the church, the naked bride, dirty and smiling and singing her songs. Performing miracles, signs, and wonders and “winning souls.” But is there any change in her condition? Any real power that’s changing our nation? Are the youth flocking to Bible studies/ Midrash? Are the abortion clinics closing? Are the heroin addicts running to our assemblies because of our love? Are the movie theaters a place you can take your children to see a clean show? Darkness is getting darker and we must keep getting brighter and shining our lights.

The church is not a building you go to once a week. The bride is not a woman in a gown. The thoughts that we think are not His thoughts. Yahweh is a God we should fear. Fear is a word that we should think about at times when we think of The Creator of all. Even the demons believe in God and tremble. “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.” James 2:19 KJB.

Jeremiah 5:22 (NIV) “Should you not fear me?” declares the Lord. “Should you not tremble in my presence?”

I don’t know about you, but I don’t think I have reached the correct measure of fearing him. Demons tremble, shouldn’t we? In Hebrew, the word fear is not just a feeling aroused due to danger but an extreme sense of wonder that comes from recognizing an authority. When we look at a burning bush, a zebra, a delicate flower, and recognize it came from an awesome Creator, then we are in awe of His magnificence. We fear a God who is able to create such wonder for our eyes to behold and we honor Him for giving it to us to enjoy in beauty and grace.

When we notice that creation and His Word no longer excite us, then it’s time for us to repent. One man in the Bible named Ezra repented for the whole nation.

Ezra was aware of his nation’s sins, “O my God, I am too ashamed and disgraced to lift up my face to you, my God, because our sins are higher than our heads and our guilt has reached to the heavens.” Ezra 9:6 NIV.

“While Ezra was praying and confessing, weeping and throwing himself down before the house of God, a large crowd of Israelites – men, women, and children – gathered around him. They too wept bitterly.” Ezra 10:1 NIV. Ezra and the people were truly repentant before God. They acknowledged His authority as ruler of all the earth. They also knew that they needed to get back to keeping His instructions and commandments.

The church is divided and the preachers say, pat me on the back and tell me I’m preaching well. What happened to the fear of Yahweh? Ezra’s repentant heart caused men, women and children to join him in weeping.

Psalms 34:11 NIV. “Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord.”

Psalms 89:7 NASB “A God greatly feared in the council of the holy ones,
And awesome above all those who are around Him?”

Where’s the love?

On a cross dripping with blood. HaShem is love. “The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” 1 John 4:8 NASB. The truth is our nation is naked and in need of a good scrubbing.

Are they ashamed of their detestable conduct? “No, they have no shame at all; they do not even know how to blush…” Jeremiah 6:15 NIV. Naked people should blush. The Torah is considered clothing. Let us bathe and dress in robes of Righteousness.

Long Drives With the Hubby!

Bob Logan collects church names. Here is an excerpt from his blog.

Harmony Baptist Church in East Texas is a name that doesn’t sound so bad. The funny thing is that it is only a half-mile away from Harmony Baptist Church #2. I guess they are not so harmonious after all. Battle Ground Baptist Church…aren’t they all? Waterproof Baptist Church in Louisiana begs the question: does the baptism count if you’re water repellant? Country Club Christian Church is in Kansas City, but you’re actually likely to find some of these in every city. This may be the fastest growing model of church in America. James Bond United Community Church in Toronto is of course “shaken, not stirred.” Ha!

In this teaching, I want to show you some bad news and some good. My husband and I like to go for long drives. We go through small towns and look at farmland and cattle, cafés and unique stores. Last Saturday as we were driving through a small town we began to count churches. We lost count. One place really had my attention. It was two church buildings, two different denominations sitting on the same property with the same parking lot, and a space separating the buildings of maybe 10 feet? Craziness. I wondered if on Sunday morning they greet each other as they go into different buildings to worship the same Father. I wondered why when we visit churches they have so many empty seats but they can’t join up and have fellowship with the people next door and here in KY, it is really a hop and a skip to the next building. I think it’s because someone changed the rules.

There was a king in the Bible who changed the rules and I want you to see what he changed. This king named Ahaz went to Damascus and saw an altar there (pagan). He sent a sketch to Uriah the priest with detailed plans on construction. So this priest builds the whole shebang before the King of Judah returns.

2nd Kings 16:12-13 says, “When the king came from Damascus, the king saw the altar; then the king approached the altar and went up to it, and burned his burnt offering and his meal offering, and poured his drink offering and sprinkled the blood of his peace offerings on the altar.”

Now let’s look at verse 14, “The bronze altar, which was before the LORD, he brought from the front of the house, from between his altar and the house of the LORD, and he put it on the north side of his altar.” NASB. The altar where the blood was splashed. The very place for redemption of sin.

Hashem commanded that the brazen, bronze altar, be placed right inside the courtyard. When you entered THE GATE to the tabernacle, boom, there it was! But not anymore.

The Hebrew root word for altar means to slay. The Latin word is “high.”  An altar is a high place for sacrifice. This bronze altar was raised higher than all the surrounding furniture. Jesus/Yeshua was high and lifted up on the cross.  Now king Ahaz has moved him to the back. Consequently now when you walked in your eyes rested on the new altar–the pagan way of doing things. The bronze altar was the altar of repentance. Repentance has been moved to the back of the church and one man has been moved to the front of the church, king Ahaz.

But what does Ahaz say?  “But I will use the bronze altar for seeking guidance.” And Uriah the priest did just as King Ahaz had ordered.” 2nd KINGS 16:16 NIV.

HE WAS CAUGHT BETWEEN TWO ALTARS. This is when we mix Babylon with Torah. We have a mixed up way of worship. We have a mingled– corrupt way instead of a Holy set apart way.

Let us look at what else he did. . . 2nd Kings 16:17-18, “King Ahaz cut off the side panels and removed the basins from the movable stands. He removed the sea from the bronze bulls that supported it and set it on a stone base. He took away the Sabbath canopy that had been built at the temple and removed the royal entryway outside the temple of the Lord, in deference to the king of Assyria.” NIV.

The Sabbath canopy was set up for the priest to read the book of the law (Torah) on the Sabbath, they read the book for hours, and now one man titled Pastor, reads very little. Where is the Elders? Teachers? The Prophet? We now have a Greco Roman way of doing things. We call it Christianity.

“On the panels set in frames were lions, oxen, and angels. These were also on the frames. Above and below the lions and the cattle were engraved designs.” 1KINGS 7:29 GWT.

“It was a handbreadth in thickness, and its rim was like the rim of a cup, like a lily blossom. It held three thousand baths.” 2nd Chronicles 4:5 NIV.

“The king took the various articles from the Temple of God and broke them into pieces. He shut the doors of the LORD’s Temple so that no one could worship there, and he set up altars to pagan gods in every corner of Jerusalem.” 2nd Chronicles 28:24 NLT.

Why would he gather together the vessels and cut them in pieces? Because he sold them and melted the gold and made money! He shut the doors of the house of the Lord Adonai and he made altars on every corner of Jerusalem that the priest could sacrifice there and not in the temple. It was easier.

It seems there was a place on every corner here too. Instead of just having churches named after the area, like the New Testament church…the church of Ephesus, the church of Corinth and so on…we now have churches named after men…Obviously the very word “church’ is corrupt.

Ahaz‘s name means “possessor or one who had.”

He had it all but lost it all. Now for the good news.  King Ahaz has a son and he is holy–righteous. His name is Hezekiah and his name means “God is my strength.” The Father will raise up a people who are strong in the Word and know their Father personally. They will move to the back and place His Son in the front.  They, like Hezekiah, will tear down all the false worship that is left of the church of Ahaz. They will return to the ancient paths. They will replace the day of the sun to the Sabbath. They will replace Easter and Christmas with His Holy Feast days. They will no longer believe the lies of their fathers.

“Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of My pasture! saith the Lord. Therefore thus saith the Lord God of Israel against the pastors that feed My people; Ye have scattered My flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the Lord.   And I will gather the remnant of My flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.  And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the Lord. Behold, the days come saith the Lord, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.” Jeremiah 23:1 – 5 KJB.

The Spirit of Athaliah and Pride

Light House

The Spirit of Athaliah and Pride

This message is about power. It seems many love titles in this day and age. There is a feeling one gets when honored by men.  A title can make one feel important or fill a void from childhood. Some people have a certain longing to be recognized, patted on the back and noticed. Yeshua/ Jesus said, “They love the place of honor at banquets and the chief seats in the synagogues, and respectful greetings in the market places, and being called Rabbi by men.” Matthew 23:6-7 NASB.

These men were hypocrites, but many of the Sadducee’s and Pharisees were very obedient and holy.

Athaliah was the daughter of wicked Ahab and his wife Jezebel.

Just when you think this potion for success couldn’t get any uglier guess who she marries? Athaliah married King Jehoram of Judah. He was the one who murdered all his brothers with a sword because they were loyal to The Lord Adonai.  He is so wicked and bent on evil, so look what God does …“After all this, the LORD afflicted Jehoram with an incurable disease of the bowels. And it came to pass, that in the process of time, after the end of two years, his bowels fell out by reason of his sickness: so he died of sore diseases” 2nd Chronicles 21:18-19 KJV.

Now that I have your attention, we will look at this woman and a spirit as strong as Jezebel who loved the seat of royalty, and the title, and accolades of men.

There is a big difference in being proud of your accomplishments and being prideful. Pride is puffed up. It’s when we say, “our way is best,” or we are the only one doing it right. Pride puts others down. Pride sneaks in and it can make us think we are holier than the next person. It can creep into leadership and cause a sickness to infiltrate us. Pride says we drive better, cook better, look better, are smarter than our colleagues and have more wisdom with our spending, more discernment, talent, gifting, prophetic knowledge, and the list goes on.

Jesus/ Yeshua said go wash someone’s feet, and be a servant–to not think too highly of ourselves. He said, let another person compliment you and to not boast about your own accomplishments.  I am paraphrasing here, but He also said when we tell everybody the good we have done, we have our reward.

Athaliah had a sickness, many of us do and we don’t even realize it. Giving HaShem the Glory for everything is a must.

Athaliah sat upon the throne of David and she reigned six years. How did she do it? She murdered all her grandchildren, that’s how. G-d have mercy if we elect someone as evil as this woman. G-d spelled without the “o” is just a way of saying that His Name is so Holy that if anyone were to print out this article and throw it in the trash, we would not want His name on it… His name is YHVH or Yahweh.

Now back to Athaliah.

“Now when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she rose and destroyed all the royal offspring of the house of Judah. But Jehoshabeath the king’s daughter took Joash the son of Ahaziah and stole him from among the king’s sons who were being put to death, and placed him and his nurse in the bedroom. So Jehoshabeath, the daughter of King Jehoram, the wife of Jehoiada the priest (for she was the sister of Ahaziah), hid him from ATHALIAH so that she would not put him to death. He was hidden with them in the house of God six years while Athaliah reigned over the land.” 2nd Chronicles 22:10-12 NASB.

Six years.

I believe God has been hiding some men and women who are being taught the old paths. Followers of the Way and not followers of men with titles.

Did you notice Athaliah destroyed everyone who could take her place? I have seen jealousy in HaShem’s house, where many destroyed with their tongues other people’s character in order to keep the eyes of the people on them. Jealousy is in The Body of Yeshua/ Jesus and in His people when it shouldn’t be. Paul saw this nasty jealousy and said this, “Some of you are saying, “I am a follower of Paul.” Others are saying, “I follow Apollos,” or “I follow Peter,” or “I follow only Christ.” Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul?” 1ST Corinthians 1:12-13 NLT.

This woman Athaliah wanted all eyes upon her and she wanted the glory so badly she was willing to murder her own flesh and blood. Is your brother or sister of another title your own flesh and blood?  If they are Baptist, Methodist, Catholic, and on and on, they are still divided. Divided by doctrines of men. When we get back to the Jewishness of our faith we will hopefully all get on the same page and eventually be a strong army. Bones coming together with His Ruach breath.

One of Athaliah’s grandchildren is hidden by the priest and he is raised in the house of Yahweh and trained at a very early age to obey the Father’s Commandments. Eventually, he is placed on the throne and she is murdered for her wickedness. But what type of person would go to such links to get a title? A position? She wanted the title more than her own seed! I pray mercy on what I see today happening all over this land.

“When Athaliah heard the noise made by the guards and the people, she went to the people at the temple of the Lord. She looked and there was the king, standing by the pillar, as the custom was. The officers and the trumpeters were beside the king, and all the people of the land were rejoicing and blowing trumpets. Then Athaliah tore her robes and called out, “Treason! Treason!”

Jehoiada the priest ordered the commanders of units of a hundred, who were in charge of the troops: “Bring her out between the ranks and put to the sword anyone who follows her.” For the priest had said, “She must not be put to death in the temple of the Lord.” So they seized her as she reached the place where the horses enter the palace grounds, and there she was put to death.

Jehoiada then made a covenant between the Lord and the king and people that they would be the Lord’s people. He also made a covenant between the king and the people. All the people of the land went to the temple of Baal and tore it down. They smashed the altars and idols to pieces and killed Mattan the priest of Baal in front of the altars.”2nd Kings 11:13-18 NIV. Oh, that we would tear it down and get back to His Feast.

Now I told you all that to tell you this. The spirit of Jezebel is strong but so is the spirit of Athaliah. The only way to stop this spirit was for the priest to join together and pray and teach the younger generation in fear. When there is corruption in the headship of an assembly or a government seat, it has a trickled down effect. I have watched this over and over again. Corruption in the headship means corruption in the body and in the people. They call people brave who are not heroic. They call evil good and good evil.

Athaliah kills the royal seed. This was of the lineage of the Messiah. These were kingdom inheritors and the seed that was meant to rule. That is what this spirit does and it is working in this day. It loves to slay the mighty leaders, the prophetic voices, and those who exalt Yeshua and it comes with false motives.

Idol worship and jealousy is a stench in our Father’s nostrils. Men have made it about them and yes, we have made it a show. We have removed the Jewishness of our faith and created our own religion and named it Christianity. Many times the sound from the pulpit sounds good to our ears. Mistakenly, many times people have placed their faith in a man and placed him on a pedestal.

“On the appointed day Herod, wearing his royal robes, sat on his throne and delivered a public address to the people. They shouted, “This is the voice of a god, not of a man.” immediately, because Herod did not give praise to God, an angel of the Lord struck him down, and he was eaten by worms and died.” Acts 12:21-23 NIV.

May we all get back to the older path and the way of truth and obedience to His Torah.

“And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” And He said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true.” Then He said to me, “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost. “He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son. “But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Revelation 21:5-8 NASB.

Stop Embarrassing Your Husband!

And Aaron said to them, “Break off the golden earrings which are in the ears of your wives, your sons, and your daughters, and bring them to me.” … And he received the gold from their hand, and he fashioned it with an engraving tool, and made a molded calf. Then they said, “This is your god, O Israel, that brought you out of the land of Egypt!” Exodus 32:2-3 KJV.

Do you have a visual of HaShem’s holy people? He just led them through the Red Sea and caused many miracles to take place including placing horrific plagues on their enemies.

Now they are having sex in the open, bowing down to an idol, drinking and carrying on. Got a visual? Yeah, I know its bad English but it helps set the tone for their ignorance. What about Aaron?  If he would have been a better leader, he might have said, “NO!” This is not the god that led you out of Egypt! Back up, he should have said, “I will not make you an idol. I will not be a man pleaser and I will not lead by popular demand.”

Now get a visual of a church system man has created called Babylon. It basically works the same way. The people give the pastors and the system their gold and their money and the Aarons of today, please the people with itching ears and watered down messages. “For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.” They will reject the truth and chase after myths” 2nd Timothy 4:3-4 NIV.

I see many coming out of the false system of Babylon. This system resides in nations, and leaders and yes, even church systems, but one day in the near future, HaShem is going to destroy it.

“Then a strong angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, “So will Babylon, the great city, be thrown down with violence, and will not be found any longer. “And the sound of harpists and musicians and flute-players and trumpeters will not be heard in you any longer; and no craftsman of any craft will be found in you any longer; and the sound of a mill will not be heard in you any longer; and the light of a lamp will not shine in you any longer; and the voice of the bridegroom and bride will not be heard in you any longer; for your merchants were the great men of the earth, because all the nations were deceived by your sorcery. “And in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints and of all who have been slain on the earth.” Revelations 18:20-24 NASB.

“ ‘Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great!’

She has become a dwelling for demons and a haunt for every impure spirit, a haunt for every unclean bird, a haunt for every unclean and detestable animal. For all the nations have drunk the maddening wine of her adulteries. The kings of the earth committed adultery with her and the merchants of the earth grew rich from her excessive luxuries.” Revelation 18:2-3 NIV.

Why would God use the word “hateful” and “Caged birds” to describe this habitation? Birds can be horrific, flesh picking, pecking, detestable creatures. The SAINTS have been caged in pews and crippled.  Instead of being equipped, they hear prosperity teachings. They have allowed a system to come in and rule them, taking with it, their power. They have removed the office of the prophet and the Elder. They have removed all the Jewishness of our faith and added the Pagan rituals and holidays and yes, they even eat all the unclean animals HaShem told us were not food but garbage collectors. He never changed the design of these animals, they still clean up the waste on land and at sea. Yes, all things He created are good and good for food that He said was food, but swine is not food. You can eat a castor bean and die from just one. It’s still good to ease the stomach after the poison is removed. Hopefully, you see my point.

“They say to the seers, “See no more visions!” and to the prophets, “Give us no more visions of what is right! Tell us pleasant things, prophesy illusions. Isaiah 30:10 NIV.

This system has gradually come in until it’s a reflection of Hollywood.

The Apostle Paul wrote in his day that there was a secret power of lawlessness.

This nasty spirit is almost full. Watch the news as people walk up to police sitting in their patrol cars and just shoot them. Lawlessness– Torahlessness. If you love me keep my Commandments said Yeshua.

It reminds me of when Adonai told Abraham this, “Know for certain that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, where they will be enslaved and oppressed four hundred years. “But I will also judge the nation whom they will serve, and afterward, they will come out with many possessions. “As for you, you shall go to your fathers in peace; you will be buried at a good old age. “Then in the fourth generation they will return here, for the iniquity of the Amorite is not yet complete. “Genesis 15:13-16 NASB. The food industry and the entertainment industry has almost reached its full measure. The Babylonian church system has almost reached its full measure. AMERICA has almost reached her full measure.

My husband was watching a movie channel at 7:30 pm and when his movie went off that was rated P.G, a new movie came on that was porn. It was labeled a regular movie and it was not being aired on a porn channel but a regular television show. The movie started out with a very up close and vivid orgy in session. He quickly changed the channel, but my thoughts are we have let so much INIQUITY creep in that we are full blown Babylon.

America has much worldwide religious influence – sending out missionaries, “apostles,” and “prophets” all over the world. No other nation is as generous or tolerant of all forms of religion.  Just like Babylon, American religion is very money-oriented, sensual, and self-indulgent – the churches are centers for social interaction, mega-cathedrals, with entertainment, rather than, self-sacrificial service to others. Man gets the glory in these types of establishments, not HIM.

Religion would say “You can’t call a filthy tax collector to be your disciple! “As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at his tax collector’s booth. “Follow me and be my disciple,” Jesus said to him. So Matthew got up and followed him.” Matthew 9:9 NLT. Religion would say, “We forbid a sinner come to dinner at our house.” “While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors AND SINNERS came and ate with him and his disciples.” Matthew 9:10 NIV. Surely, none of them were gay, or drug addicts (sarcasm). No, they probably only had a little pride or self-righteousness.

A religious Babylonian mindset. A Roman way and a Hebrew way. The people think wearing the best robe, sitting in the best seats, using titles like Pastor, Priest, father, and prophet is important. They count things like money, people, and buildings. They tell people that Jesus-Yeshua wants them to be happy. The mighty prophet Jeremiah was so happy he wrote a book called Lamentations (weeping). Jesus says, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” Matthew 5:4 NIV. The church says God wants you to be blessed, full of joy, and without sorrow or grief. The Bible says, “Because in much wisdom there is much grief, and increasing knowledge results in increasing pain.” Ecclesiastes 1:18 NASB.

I heard one preacher say, “do you know what blessed means?” Do you think it means, big house, fine car, and a doctorate in education or theology?  Jesus-Yeshua said, “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” Matthew 5:11-12 NIV.

Come out of this system. The main thing that makes it hard to leave is when there is too much Babylon in us, and we are blinded by our pride and our fleshly kingdoms. It’s easy to get out of Egypt but getting Egypt out of us is difficult.

Your Husband is Coming, Wake Up!

A few years ago after a tiring day, my husband and I went to bed. It was past midnight when we went to sleep, so when his alarm went off on his phone at three-thirty in the morning we both were abruptly awakened by the loud noise.
“Chief,” that’s what I call my husband most of the time, grabbed his phone and said, “It’s the church’s alarm, and somebody may be breaking into the church.” He grabbed some clothes and jumped in his patrol car and took off. I laid in bed and prayed for his safety. As I prayed I felt the Father say, “Bonnie my people are asleep!” They need an alarm to wake them up. They need a shofar blast.
“But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.” Matthew 24:43-44 NIV.
As I was pondering on this, I was reminded of the parable of the Ten Virgins– five were foolish (disobedient) and five were wise (obedient). Oh, but the story is deeper than this, you see they all went to meet the Bridegroom and they all had lamps and they all had oil in their lamps. He explains to us what lamps and oil are in His Word. “Your word (Torah) is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105 NASB. They only had the Older Testament when this was written. The first five books of the Bible is referred to as the Torah. “For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching is light; And reproofs for discipline are the way of life.” Proverbs 6:23 NASB.
However, even though all the virgins had lamps and oil, all went to sleep.
“Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.” Matthew 25:1-5 KJB. Verse 8-9 says, “The foolish ones said to the sensible ones, ‘Give us some of your oil because our lamps are going out.’ ‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both you and us. Go to the oil dealers and buy some for yourselves.” CJB.
How does one buy oil spiritually? “Buy the truth, and do not sell it, Get wisdom and instruction and understanding.” Proverbs 23:23 NASB. What is the truth? “Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.” John 17:17 NASB.
You know when my husband’s alarm went off we were not expecting it. When Noah started building a boat no one expected rain. It had never rained before. One hundred and twenty years went by before that first drop of rain fell, but Noah kept on building. The Bible says, ““Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.” Luke 17:26-27 NIV.
There is another story in Matthew, it starts in chapter twenty-two and it is about a Father who is having a wedding banquet for his Son. He sends his servants out and invites his guest but they didn’t have time to come. One had some new land he needed to go look at, another a new bride he wanted to spend time with and one had merchandise to tend to. The story is told in Luke as well, and the invited guest of the wedding feast have more excuses. One had two oxen to go prove, one land to look at and so on. Oh, has Yahweh been knocking on your heart? Has he been trying to wake you up to put Him before all these other things? Have you told the King of glory, “not now I am too busy?”
Well, in the story He gets angry and He says go in the highways and byways and to the poor, the fatherless, the maimed, the crippled, the blind and invite them. They end up coming. Why do you think that is? Broken, poor, humble people need a Saviour. I am not just talking about wealth and material possessions. I know many who have wealth who know they cannot make it without HIM.
Revelations 19:7 says, “Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.” NASB.
Are you awake? Are you ready? If the alarm went off tonight, do you know Him? I don’t mean know about Him–I mean know Him. The ancient Jewish wedding tradition goes like this: The bride and groom were separated after the betrothal. The groom would start to build a home onto his father’s house.
”In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.” John 14:2 KJB. The bride worked on her wedding garments. She kept them clean and white, without spot or wrinkle. She also kept her bridesmaids close by, along with her oil lamps and her extra oil. When the Father looked at his Son and said go get Your Bride a loud shofar was blown and the bride would awaken and get ready to meet her husband.
How well do we know our husband?
