When our Dreams Collide

diary

Something funny is happening in dreamland. A friend sent me a video the other night that confirmed just that. People are dreaming the same dreams and dreams are getting intertwined.

For those of you who are new to my blog site, I have a group on Facebook called Obadiah’s Cave where at times with the help of the Father, a few of us in there get interpretations to the riddles or downloads we receive in the night. Sometimes the interpretations really help others, and a few atheists have even started believing in God due to this type of ministry.
The other evening I had two dreams back to back, but the dreams intertwined. My husband woke up and had dreamed as well, and his dream fit like a missing piece to the puzzle. They all interlocked. Here of late, I have noticed other people are having dreams for us and with us.
One woman called me last week with a dream she had that was very detailed–yes, intricately woven and spun from the heavens. I don’t want to call anyone’s name, as all the dreams posted are in a private group, but the gist of her dream was that she was pregnant and going to give birth. Then a week later after speaking at her assembly, she was confronted by a young lady who had dreamed not once, but several times that this lady was going to have a baby as well.
Families are dreaming about beloved pets and other family members too. In my own family, we watched my son and his wife struggle to get pregnant and deal with much pain last year. One night my niece’s young son who had been sick and in the hospital woke up and said, “By the way, I dreamed Becca is pregnant.” Strange that just weeks after this dream, the doctors confirmed she was.
I’ve noticed something going on in the spirit with our dreams of late, and I am going to give you my take on the matter, and why I think we are seeing this more and more, but first I want to share a dream or two with you.
While recovering from a hospital stay last week, I was lying in bed and reached in a purse I have by my nightstand that’s more like a picnic basket full of items I may need—cough drops, lip balm, etc. As I opened the flap a small diary fell out from 2012/2013. It was a dream diary my husband and I kept from that time period. One or two entries really made me think about the power of dreams and how they are not just for us. Sometimes if we don’t tell others our dreams, we are doing a disservice to the kingdom! Think Joseph never hearing about the seven skinny cows who ate the seven fat cows? How many lives would have perished?
The first dream I want to share is one from December 2012. Yes, quite a bit ago, but still well needed to make my point about the changing pattern I see happening in dreamland.
In my dream, I had received a huge manila envelope in the mail with my medical records in it. Jeff had brought the envelope in from work and I was reading what the doctors had written about me and they had written things that were untrue and some of them were comments that implied I had mental issues or that I had faked my illness. The dreams switched and it was no longer the doctor’s records I was reading but a certain person in leadership who had written things about my character that was not nice at all. Untrue even.
In my dream, I was crying and showing my husband and he looked at me and said, “Do you know what I am going to do about that? “I said, “What?” He then took his body, fully dressed and laid on top of me like Elisha who stretched himself out on top of the child and brought healing.
That evening in real time my husband walked through the door carrying a manila envelope. He said look your records are here, and my heart sunk. I opened it and it was just like my dream. I began to share with my husband and we prayed and he prayed that just like the dream, he would be a covering for me. That night was a huge banquet, prizes, music, and a celebration with many in leadership present. The evening played out with the person in my dream getting very upset with my husband. Words were exchanged that were not pleasant, and after he brought me home, he went back to help clean up the party and apologize for any offense. He ended up making things right that night and covering me, but look at how the dream played out in real time? Are any of you experiencing this?
As I read through my dream book I found several dreams my brother had of me or my husband. Strangely there was no way he could have known what we were going through, and even the places he described were right on point to real life events that had crushed us. Abba was showing us that He saw our pain and that what we suspected was happening, but more so that He would help us and comfort us and lead us through.
The last dream my brother shared was from November 2014.

In his dream, a lady with very long blonde hair was sitting with me in a wide-open room–large living type area. In the room was a Genie lamp and I began to shake it. As I shook it, it jingled. The lady looked at me and said, “When it jingles like that it means your book will be made into a movie.” I opened the Genie lamp and what looked like Christmas ornament balls were inside. There were two red, three green, and one clear. My brother said that I picked up the clear one and cracked it open and the woman protested that I shouldn’t have broken it. That now there would be no movie deal. I then say, “Yes, I should have, and then I dipped two fingers inside the broken clear glass ball and it had a thick liquid substance. I hold up my fingers and look at the lady and say, “This is the anointing oil.”
Not sure exactly what this dream is about, but it was given during the holidays that I no longer celebrate. It seemed to speak to me that hopefully I am not in this writing business for movie deals but for His kingdom. Although the money would be nice to help those in need.

One thing seems certain, our dreams are becoming more real, more intense, more detailed, and other people are bringing confirmation as in two or three witnesses to what Abba is getting ready to do in our lives. Not only that, but due to our second-guessing– fearing our minds may have forced our dream to occur or we think perhaps its due to us watching The Walking Dead before sleep, He (Abba) is having others dream a dream for us and with us and also about us. How special is that?
As time moves swiftly, and knowledge increases and social media speeds up, many of us get stuck hypnotized with facebook, television, the fast-paced life of work, children, and deadlines, but the God of Heaven is waking us up and He is getting our attention and using our dreams in this Joel 2 time period to shake us and also for a witness to how Real He is and how powerful He is.
He said this, “After this, I will pour my Spirit on everyone. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams. Your young men will see visions.
In those days I will pour my Spirit on servants, on both men and women.
I will work miracles in the sky and on the earth: blood, fire, and clouds of smoke.
The sun will become dark, and the moon will become as red as blood before the terrifying day of the LORD comes.”
Then whoever calls on the name of the LORD will be saved. Those who escape will be on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem. Among the survivors will be those whom the LORD calls, as the LORD has promised.” Joel 2:29-32 GWT.
He is not a man that He should lie.

Dream on my friends!

The Fire of His Kiln

This blog is not about the intro. It’s not about my dad’s dream or sleepiness but somehow all the pieces seemed to fit.

My dad had a dream the other night that was in color, vivid, and bright. He and another man were supposed to be guarding a door. Inside the door was a great feast and everyone was dressed in royal robes with headdresses on. Their robes were bright scarlet, purple, yellow and brilliant in color. He and his fellow guard ended up falling asleep at the door. Later they woke up and his real boss from before he retired came outside and said where were you both? What happened to you all? My dad said, “We fell asleep, but we are back at our post now.” His boss just grinned and went back to the banquet.

Now while the bridegroom was delaying, they all got drowsy and began to sleep.” Matthew 25:5 NASB.

All ten went to sleep.

“Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes.” Luke 12:37 ESV.

The five wise enter the wedding Feast at the first resurrection. The others need more oil.

A servant is one who looks to his master for favor, but a bride looks to her husband for intimacy and affection. All these virgins had oil but five had extra oil. In the Torah the priest had to keep the lights of the Menorah burning and the oil had to be pure and the light could never go out. How do we get this oil and where does it come?

“How I love Your law (Torah)!
It is my meditation all the day.

Your commandments make me wiser than my enemies,
For they are ever mine.

I have more insight than all my teachers,
For Your testimonies are my meditation.

I understand more than the aged,
Because I have observed Your precepts.

I have restrained my feet from every evil way,
That I may keep Your word.

I have not turned aside from Your ordinances,
For You Yourself have taught me.

How sweet are Your words to my taste!
Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

From Your precepts I get understanding;
Therefore I hate every false way.

Nun.
Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path.” Psalms 119:97-105 NASB.

His Word is a lamp and a light and Yeshua was the Word made flesh.

Shortly after my dad told me his dream, a friend sent me this next message that was just too good not to share.

“According to a Jewish legend, at exactly midnight on Shavuot (Pentecost), the heavens open for an instant and God will respond favorably to any prayer that is spoken then. According to one commentator, it’s likely that this story was told to keep children—not to mention sleepy adults—awake and alert during the night’s study session. The origin of the midnight time for prayer and study lies in Psalm 119:62: “At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee.” This psalm is attributed to David, who, according to the Talmud (b. Sukkah 29b), was a notorious insomniac, being satisfied with only “sixty breaths of sleep.”

Staying awake requires not just knowing truth but obeying it. A bride has a wedding planner who is in charge of the bride and a brides maid was the closest woman to the bride and to care for her and encourage her and help her prepare for her wedding day.

If you were a God who wanted to wake people up who would you send to do that job? John came as a voice. Prophets aren’t born, they are built. John was a High Priest and a prophet. Humble servants, teachers, and ministers of His Word are not just born equipped. They are thrown on HIS wheel.

Then I (Jeremiah) went down to the potter’s house, and there he was making something on the wheel. But the vessel that he was making of clay WAS SPOILED in the hand of the potter; so he remade it into another vessel, as it pleased the potter to make.” Jeremiah 18:2-4.

smashed

Soft clay can be smacked and thrown down on the potter’s wheel and reshaped. Once the pot is fired we have a whole different story.

Yes, Hashem told Jeremiah that He knew him before He placed him in the womb and called him to be a prophet to the nations, but Jeremiah was built. If you are unsure of what I am trying to articulate read Lamentations. Most are familiar with a verse that says, “Your mercies are made new each morning,” but what was the prophet saying before all this? He was talking to a people who had not been obedient and had went whoring. I think he may have been describing the curses now that had overtaken Yahweh’s people due to their sins and their lack of keeping His Sabbaths and His Commandments. He was weeping for the Bride. The book of Lamentations is read on the 9th of Av. It begins with the Hebrew word Eicha which means “how?” It is a prophetic response to the destruction of the temple in 586 B.C.E. We also our temples that at times must destruct so that He can breathe new life into us.

“He has walled me in so I cannot escape;     he has weighed me down with chains. Even when I call out or cry for help,     he shuts out my prayer. He has barred my way with blocks of stone;     he has made my paths crooked.

Like a bear lying in wait,     like a lion in hiding,  he dragged me from the path and mangled me     and left me without help.  He drew his bow     and made me the target for his arrows.

He pierced my heart     with arrows from his quiver.  I became the laughingstock of all my people; they mock me in song all day long. He has filled me with bitter herbs     and given me gall to drink.

He has broken my teeth with gravel;     he has trampled me in the dust.  I have been deprived of peace;     I have forgotten what prosperity is.” Lamentations 3:8-17 NIV.

If we are a son or a daughter, He will correct us and shape us on His Potter’s wheel.

Who is man to think that he is the one who can form the clay?

“Will the pot contend with the potter, or the earthenware with the hand that shapes it? Will the clay ask the potter what he is making? or his handiwork say to him, “You have no skill”? (Isaiah 45:9, NEB)

Our Jesus/ Yeshua was placed on that wheel.

“Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered.” Hebrews 5:8.

How are Abba’s servants built? They are thrown on the potter’s wheel. Prophets usually haven’t met anyone they cannot relate to. Most of them have been through just about everything you can think of. Have you ever noticed that Elijah just arrives on the scene and we read nothing about his background? He just boldly confronts kings and commands the sky to stay shut and slaughters over 400 false prophets of Baal. How do you get such tenacity? Not by being pampered and coddled.

Prophets were fearful of the call. They said things like “I can’t speak. I’m too young. I am the least in my father’s house. I am a fig farmer. I stutter.

They knew where prophets went. It was usually to oppose a priest—a king—a wicked leader with a booming voice from Adonai and then off to the prison, death, a cave, a lion’s den. They were built to confront those no one else wanted to confront. A stiff necked people. An Ahab. A Jezebel. A Saul who had not slain the wicked king he was ordered to slay.

Go tell my servant David, the one who carried a giants head on a pole that he is the man full of sin Nathan.

Fast for 40 days and climb a mountain only to go back again because the people have been in idolatry and have been worshipping a calf and cry out for Yah to spare those same people who said, “Where is this Moses?” Yes, this Moses whose staff parted the sea. This Moses who cried out for their very lives. This Moses who was fashioned in the desert away from his family and home on the Potter’s wheel.

The burden of the word of the Lord Adonai—that’s how their letters were started. It is a burden to feel what the Father feels. It is a burden to see what the Father sees.

How do you build a man or women that have no regard to whether people will like the sound of the words they use? How do you build a person who doesn’t care if you never speak to them again?

Possibly the Potter wants such a person to be shunned by those esteemed. The ones in the important circles. How does HaShem build and shape a vessel that will speak what He tells them to speak even if their closest friends and companions walk away? You cause them to be loved by people who they love with so much love it bubbles up inside their soul, and then you have those same people reject them, crush them, defame their character and trust. You bring people across their path that are so precious to them and you turn those same confidants into barking dogs that bite and snarl and growl at the messenger or give them a Judas kiss. Their words are twisted—they looked for ways to catch Yeshua in sin. They watched him like a spider. They accused him of casting out demons by the prince of demons.

“They watched him closely in an effort to trap him in something he might say.” Luke 11:54 ISV.

“But Jesus, on His part, was not entrusting Himself to them, for He knew all men, and because He did not need anyone to testify concerning man, for He Himself knew what was in man.” John 2:23-24 NASB.

How do you build something that has no concern for money? No regard for titles? No affection for the esteem of man? You strip them of everything they own. You cause them to live by a brook and let ravens feed them. You send them to a widow with a few drops of oil and a handful of flour. You leave them naked and bare and they see all the material as refuse—worthless. Mother Teresa could not be bought—she had her eyes on a different prize. The apostles could not be bought. Oh, Saints do not look to store up treasures here that can bring no joy. Junk you have to dust and worry about thieves stealing. Titles that only bring esteem from men.

How do you build someone who has more compassion for the sick than most? A person who will fast and pray and believe with someone who is suffering horribly? You give them sores all over their body as they scrape the discharge with some broken pottery. You blind them for three days. You give them a thorn in their flesh, a hip out of socket, a barren womb and a taste of suffering that most cannot imagine.

When I first came out of an attack on my health and retired my cane, I sat outside a big meetings one night—a meeting where the mega church parking lot filled up and any person coming in who was in a wheelchair, walker, or using a cane, I asked if I could pray for them. I cried with them. I knew what it was like to be sick unto death. I would have never had that compassion if I had not gone through it.

How do you build someone with a grief for sin that causes them to weep when they see sin? Most the people that I know who have been forgiven much love much. When a person sees a woman’s breast exposed and grieves over it instead of lusting. When we see men and women lusting after flesh pots that we used to partake of and our heart doesn’t want to point a finger but instead grabs a cloak and covers their nakedness and cries out for their soul to be healed.

Moses looked at his sister who had slandered him and “Moses cried out to the LORD, saying, “O God, heal her, I pray!” Numbers 12:13 NASB.

Awe, the Potter’s wheel.

When the Father speaks to me and humbles me it is usually through people that I overlooked or thought “unimportant” A person I judged by their titles or lack of them. Have you ever had the Father make you feel the way Jeremiah felt above?

He said he was made a laughing stock—mocked.

I write these next words not for pity—not for prayer, although I’ll take any I can get, but to show you something.

How do you make a marriage become so one in the Spirit you both think and act and speak the same? Most every night my husband prays with me—many mornings as well, but at night he lays his hand on my stomach that refuses to work in divine order due to gastroparesis, and he speaks life over it. He watches it blow up like a balloon and he sees my tears and with those same tears he knocks, he asks, he is persistent like the widow who went before the unjust judge and like Moses he cries, “Heal my wife!” One night as he prayed I thought of all the healthy and unhealthy wives who never hear such compassion from their husbands. I thought about how loved I am. How our very marriage has been placed on the Potter’s wheel for such a time as this and every trial, every valley of darkness has brought us closer. For some, it causes bitterness and division. My husband waited twelve years for me. Every year he prayed for a wife and waited. He went on few dates because he did not feel they were the one. In the twelfth year, a woman at his assembly said, “Jeff the Father just showed me a field with beautiful flowers and there the sun was shining down on a blondish brown haired woman that the Father is “molding” for you.” Eve or Chavah was fashioned and constructed from the side of Adam. The Father was shaping me into a wife for my husband.

“So with the potter sitting at his labor, revolving the wheel with his feet. He is always concerned for his products and turns them out in quantity.

With his hands, he molds the clay, and with his feet softens it. His care is for proper coloring, and he keeps watch on the fire of his kiln.” The Wisdom Books 38:29-30. NAB.

He is shaping you into just the right vessel for His use. It hurts at times to be smashed and remolded into shape, thrown on the wheel and placed into a fiery pit, but in the end, He will fashion us into a vessel He sees fit to use.

“But now, Hashem, Thou art Avinu (Our Father); we are the chomer (clay), and Thou, Yotzreinu (our Potter, Maker, Creator); and we all are the ma’aseh (work) of Thy yad (hand.)” Isaiah 64:8 OJB.

Claudia the Dreamer

green lady

“He was walking on the waters; he was flying on the wings of the wind. He spoke to the tempest and to the fishes of the lake; all were obedient to him”.  Claudia the dreamer!

Pilate’s wife had a dream that has always intrigued me. Dreams are funny things. They seem to hold secrets too wondrous at times for us to unravel. But not this dream, this dream was surreal!

“While Pilate was sitting on the JUDGE’S SEAT, his wife came with a message: “Don’t have anything to do with that innocent man, for I have suffered a great deal today in a dream because of him.” Matthew 27:19 NIV.

Her name was Claudia and from this one verse, we can learn a large amount about her character. She suffered a GREAT deal. Have you ever had a dream about a loved one, a child, and it was so real and so traumatic that you suffered?

Pilate is judging the case of The Anointed One. It says, “He knew that for ENVY they had delivered him” Matthew 27:18 KJV.

CRUCIFY HIM! They shout! Pilate argues with the crowd. He tries to persuade them to let Jesus/ Yeshua go. They should have been preparing for their Feast! Why were they screaming death threats at this man?

Why couldn’t they see that it was almost Passover? Everyone knows that at Passover we must get our lamb prepared.  We must check it for flaws and make sure it is spotless, no broken bones. But that’s not what I want to talk about. No, it’s Claudia who intrigues me.

Yahweh could have given a troubling dream to Pilate. He could have given it to anyone, but he gave it to her. Not only that but as Yeshua’s own people are screaming crucify him! She is saying after her dream that she believes he is innocent.  And He was. He was spotless.

Now we know Jesus/Yeshua had to die. We know he was the sacrificial Lamb. However, some have tried to pin Claudia with a dream from the devil to stop the sacrifice. I don’t see it that way. Her husband must have studied the note she had hurriedly written, “HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT INNOCENT MAN!” He knows his wife is a dreamer; a visionary. He remembers her pointing out the miracles she had seen and heard of concerning this man Yeshua. Perhaps she saw the brutality of his death in her dream?

Like many husbands, he weighs his wife’s words and he studies the crowd that is blaring and shouting much louder than her simple scratched words on paper, “I’ve suffered greatly in a dream this day!” Ah, the dreams and what they hold.

Earlier, she had grabbed his ankles and kneeled before him gagging. “He’s innocent!” Don’t have anything to do with their affairs or this man’s blood will be on your hands. Her words are filled with frantic frenzy. He thinks about hormones and women with their many emotions running amuck and he looks up at the crowd again– What to do? What to do? Again he hears her say “I’ve suffered greatly in a dream concerning this man–have nothing to do with him. He is innocent!”

He wants his wife to be happy. She seems unlike herself. He spies the Chief Priests and the Elders. All the peoples arms waving uncontrollably, their mouths opening and closing. CRUCIFY! Sweat trickles off his forehead, what to do? What to do?

“When Pilate saw that he was accomplishing nothing, but rather that a riot was starting, he took water, washed his hands in front of the crowd, and said, “My hands are clean of this man’s blood; it’s your responsibility.”  All the people answered, “His blood is on us and on our children” Matthew 27:24-25 NASB.

Claudia, well, she is forever known as the woman who must have had a dear heart towards the Father.

Pilate’s report to Caesar, from a manuscript in the Mosque of St. Sofia Constantinople Turkey.

Pilate’s Report

“To Tiberius Caesar, Emperor of Rome,

“Noble Sovereign, Greeting: The events of the last few days in my province have been of such a character that I will give the details in full as they occurred, as I should not be surprised if, in the course of time, they may change the destiny of our nation, for it seems of late that all the gods have ceased to be propitious (favorable). I am almost ready to say, Cursed be the day that I succeeded Vallerius Flaceus in the of Judea! for since then my life has been one of continual uneasiness and distress.

The letter goes on to unveil what it looked like that day when the King of the Jews was brought forth before the judgment seat. And look at the great irony in it, one day we will stand before the Great Judge. We will hear what all we did that deserves awards, both good and ba.

Let’s read the account of Claudia written by her husband, Pilate!

I had taken a wife from among the Gauls, who pretended to see into futurity. Weeping and throwing herself at my feet she said to me: ‘Beware, beware, and touch not that man for he is holy. Last night I saw him in a vision.

He was walking on the waters; he was flying on the wings of the wind. He spoke to the tempest and to the fishes of the lake; all were obedient to him. Behold, the torrent in Mount Kedron flows with blood, the statues of Caesar are fillled with gemonide; the colums of the interium have given away, and the sun is veiled in mourning like a vestal in the tomb. Ah! Pilate, evil awaits thee. If thou wilt not listen to the vows of thy wife, dread the curse or a Roman Senate; dead the frowns of Caesar’.

“By this time the marble stair groaned under the weight of the multitude. The Nazarene was brought back to me. I proceeded to the halls of justice, followed by my guard, and asked the people in severe tone what they demanded.

” ‘The death of the Nazarene’, was the reply.

” ‘for what crime’?” ‘He has blasphemed; he has prophesied the ruin of the temple; he called himself the Son of God, the Messiah, the King of the Jews.” ‘Roman justice’, said I, ‘punishes not such offenses with death.’” ‘Crucify him! Crucify him’! Cried the relentless rabble. The vociferations of the infuriated mob shook the palace to its foundations.

“There was but one who appeared to be calm in the midst of the bast multitude; it was the Nazarene.”

One calm Nazarene, one worried wife, and one fearful man sitting on the judgement seat while the whole world watches him try and wash his hands.

Can’t you see a reflection of all of us in Pilate? We don’t want to be held responsible but we know we are. We wash our hands but we must wash our hearts and realize we have been redeemed from death. We are free from death’s sting. We have the mind of Yeshua!

Go Ahead Drink the Curse?

Go Ahead and Drink the Curse

This devotional is a tad strange. The title alone is a bit confusing. I hope you will follow closely to understand there is a deeper meaning behind the message. Think about being the Bride of Jesus-Yeshua and getting out of covenant with him. This message is about a bride committing adultery with another man and drinking a bitter curse.

In the book of Numbers 5:12-22 CJB, It tells of how HaShem informs the children of Israel that if a wife goes astray and cheats on her husband, or if he suspects she has and becomes jealous with a spirit of jealousy, then the man shall bring his wife to the priest. “And the Cohen (priest) shall bring her near, and set her before HaShem (God).   ‘The Cohen shall take holy water in an earthen vessel, and take some of the dust that is on the floor of the tabernacle and put it into the water.

Then the Cohen shall stand the woman before HaShem, uncover the woman’s head, and put the offering for remembering in her hands, which is the grain offering of jealousy. And the Cohen shall have in his hand the bitter water that brings a curse. This should remind you of the children of Israel and the golden calves they erected while Moses was on the mount. Exodus 32:20, “And he took the calf the people had made and burned it in the fire; then he ground it to powder, scattered it on the water and made the Israelites drink it.” NIV. They drank bitter water too. The same token is found in this story. Let’s continue with the woman who may have went astray.

“And the Cohen shall put her under oath, and say to the woman, “If no man has lain with you, and if you have not gone astray to uncleanness while under your husband’s authority, be free from this bitter water that brings a curse.

“But if you have gone astray while under your husband’s authority, and if  you have defiled yourself and some man ‘then the Cohen shall put the woman under the oath of the curse, and he shall say to the woman–” HaShem make you a curse and an oath among your people, when HaShem makes your thigh rot and your belly swell  “and may this water that causes the curse go into your stomach, and make  your belly swell and your thigh rot.” Then the woman shall say, “Amen, so be it”…

WHAT?

Yes, you read it correctly!

The Cohen-Priest would write these curses on a scroll, and he would scrape them off into the   bitter water. Then he would make the woman drink the bitter water that brings a curse. Oh, my!

The woman was commanded by the Lord to drink up the bitter water. The words were literally written and placed into the water, curses. However, if she had been faithful the curses couldn’t hurt her. If the husband erred, the curse was void. But she still had to drink the bitter cup.

Jesus/Yeshua drank from a bitter cup, and he was innocent. The woman may have been innocent too. I am thankful that Jesus/Yeshua took our curse and drank our bitter water. All our sins were washed in the water and all our nakedness was covered by His blood. Now when the enemy drags you before the priest, you are covered.

“Abba! Father! All things are possible for You; remove this cup from Me; yet not what I will, but what You will.” Mark 14:36 NASB.

He told Peter, “Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given me?” John 18:11 NIV.

The bitter water given to the bride that caused the stomach to swell was actually a curse that implied if the woman was guilty or pregnant by another man, she would miscarry (Thigh rot) or become barren. This was a grave curse indeed in that time period. Ironic that all the great patriarchs wives appeared to everyone as if they were under a curse. Sarah’s womb was dead until she was ninety-nine years old. Rebekah, Rachel, and Hannah all cried out for the Lord to open their wombs.

This Law of bitter water was set up by The Lord Adonai and put into place for women. Back then a husband could have his wife stoned to death. He could become jealous with this spirit of jealousy and she would be in danger.

This bitter test seemed very humiliating. The woman was made to stand with her hair down in front of the priest and drink the curse. Some claim she was naked with only her hair and shame to cover her.  Being naked in the Bible is symbolic of being without His Commandments and Torah instructions. The curses were spoken over her and it was believed at the time that if the woman was found innocent she would come to be with child afterwards and be blessed with a new baby! Perhaps HaShem covered her indeed? If she had truly committed adultery and was pregnant, the baby would not be an outcast, but loved and the sin and the humiliation before the priest would never be forgotten and she would move to repent.

There seem to be no stories found of a woman’s womb exploding and so I tend to agree that the Father was protecting women. He was protecting the Virgin Mary even. I believe God placed this ritual to protect the womb and the gift that was to come forth to the world. But on a deeper matter, we all represent backslidden Israel. Like Hosea, Gomer’s wife, who was a harlot, we’ve all went a whoring at some time or another. God says He is a jealous God and that He wants a wife that will be faithful to Him. He wants to write our names in His Book and never blot them out.

EVERY WOMAN’S WOMB HOLDS A GIFT. Even the women who have never given birth. Isaiah 54:1-3 says, “The Lord says sing, barren woman, you who never bore a child; burst into song!

Shout for joy, you who were never in labor; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband,” says the LORD. Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left” NIV. The Father continues in this chapter to explain that He had hidden his face from His wife for a moment but that now He would bring her back to Him and marry her again. Giving birth to a new baby was the sign that the woman was innocent and that The Father was blessing her.

I can only hope that whatever path He leads you down is happening soon and you are on course. Nine months of preparation in the womb can equal nine to forty years of preparation in the spirit. You don’t have to drink the bitter water or the spirit of jealousy if you stay clothed in His robes of Righteousness. Our bride clothes, white and sparkling come from His Word. Yeshua’s blood has covered our stained past of adultery. Our marriage contract is His Holy Torah and when we obey it and try and live righteously He never blots our name from His book. Just as these bitter words were scraped and placed in the water to be swallowed, so it was for Israel after their adultery in the wilderness. And just as our names are written in the Lamb’s book of Life, Moses said this, “Alas, this people has committed a great sin, and they have made a god of gold for themselves. (Jealousy and adultery)  But now, if You will, forgive their sin—and if not, please blot me out from Your book which You have written!” Exodus 32:31. God tells Moses that He will blot out who He sees fit to blot out but in the meantime, He tells Moses to obey Him.

Bitter water can befall us is we go about naked and unfaithful to our Husband in the natural and in the spirit. Adam’s bride ate the forbidden fruit that came with a curse and instead of leaving His Bride naked, He covered her and partook of the curse. “The first MAN, Adam, BECAME A LIVING SOUL.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual.” 1 Corinthians 15:45-46 NASB. Let’s all strive to be faithful brides, wearing white gowns, clean and spotless without a wrinkle– without leprosy.

“Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, an undeserved curse will not land on its intended victim” Proverbs 26:2 NLT.
